Optimizing your experience
Upload a straight-on photo and get your facial width-to-height ratio: cheekbone width divided by the height from the top of your eyelids to your upper lip. Most adults measure between about 1.7 and 2.0.
Your photo is processed in this browser and never uploaded.
There is no ideal FWHR. Research links higher ratios to looking more dominant or threatening, and to slightly lower attractiveness ratings on average. Links to behaviour are small and often fail to replicate, so the zones here describe your face, they don't grade it.
| FWHR | Range | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Low | below 1.7 | A relatively tall, narrow face for its width. |
| Mid | 1.7 to 2.0 | Where most adults fall in published samples. |
| High | 2.0 and above | A relatively wide face for its height. |
Small changes in camera angle move this ratio more than people expect.
It uses the same engine as the Face Analyzer, so both give you the same number for the same photo.
FWHR is mostly set by the bones of your cheeks and upper jaw, so exercises and mewing don't change it. Body fat adds a little width at the sides of the face, so getting leaner can lower the ratio slightly. A beard or hairstyle changes how wide the face looks without changing the measurement.

Note: This is a measurement from one photo, not a medical or personality assessment. Camera distance, head angle and expression all move the result.
